ENGLISH
Guided Reading:
.All the children in Years 5 and 6 take part in a guided reading session once a week. This is followed by another session during the week where follow up questions are completed.
This term we are covering ongoing grammar, balanced arguments and persuasive writing. We shall also be writing letters and presenting information linked with our topic.
MATHS
This term we will be focusing on negative numbers, properties of numbers, division and angles.
SCIENCE
We shall be investigating light. This will include looking at how shadows are formed by light travelling in straight lines, the eye and how we see.
TOPIC
Our Topic this Spring Term is Europe. We will be finding out about the different countries in this continent looking at physical and human geography.
PHYSICAL EDUCATION (PE)
We are back to Berinsfield Sports Centre this term however we shall now be in the pool for swimming.
RELIGIOUS EDUCATION (RE)
We are investigating the question - Is what you wear important to show your beliefs?
HANDWRITING
We follow the Letter Join handwriting scheme. For more information about this and about what your child will be learning throughout the year follow the link below. You will also find detail of how to log in and practice this at home. Handwriting is a very important skill so any practice at home would be greatly appreciated!
HOMEWORK
Read and practise your spellings daily.
I shall be sending home a piece each week with a grammar focus.
